Job Description:
The hiring of this position will be dependent on the Grant approval.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport safely the project staff complying with all traffic laws and with the regulations of the organization avoiding unnecessary risks
- Transport project documents, assets and supplies as requested from the provincial office to the districts and the reverse
- Ensure proper vehicle maintenance, with a daily inspection of water levels and oil, air pressure in tires, lighting and signaling devices, etc.
- Ensure that vehicle is cleaned inside and outside on a regular basis all equipment received is kept safe; ensure that vehicle is parked in a safe manner in accordance with the safety regulations of the Organization
- Report any abnormality, damage or accident to the program manager or his substitute in case of their absence, following the rules and procedures of the WV
- Fill all information needed in the logbook every day when using the car. Evaluate the fuel expenses according to the distances traveled and deliver a monthly report to the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
- Valid driving license, High school level certification, Certification in defensive driving or mechanics could be added advantage
- Proven experience in an equivalent position, including safe driving (including in rural areas with sub optimal road conditions)
- Maintenance of vehicle, and control of fuel use
- Past experience in humanitarian work is an added advantage
