Coca – Cola Beverages Africa has an exciting vacancy of GL Accountant at one of our Mozambique Bottler – Matola-Gare Plant, leading producer of various flavors in Mozambique for the last 28 years. This position reports directly to the Financial Accountant Manager. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the effective financial running and rigorous financial control management and process disciplines.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Outputs and Accountabilities
Routine Accounting
- Calculate and process Incidence Adjustments
- Taxation Journals – prep and posting
- Preparation of Tax Computation
- Computing dividend recommendations
- Petty cash balances every month
- Drinkage float banked quarterly
- Reconciliations submitted to BSC monthly
- Incidence adjustments reconciled to KO schedule by close of business first Wednesday
of every month.
- Tax charge is 30% of NIBT allowing for STC adjustments
- All relevant accounts are reconciled for management pack by second Monday after
month end.
- Tax computation vetted by E&Y, PWC
- Accelerated tax depreciation rates vetted by Ernest & Young AND Price Waterhouse
Coopers audit for submission to SARS.
- Accurate dividend calculations and supporting documentation submitted quarterly to
Finance Executive by required timelines
- STC paid one month post dividends.

- Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree, CPA K/ACCA
- Added advantage: Master’s Degree
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in a Financial accounting.
- Experience working on SAP.
- Working knowledge of internal controls – specifically at manufacturing site level.
