The ICRC regional sub delegation in Pemba is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following vacancy: 01 Supervisor of Cleaning Auxiliaries.
Context
The housekeeping team leader ensures the cleanliness of ICRC facilities by. providing housekeeping services and supervising a team of housekeepers and office cleaners.
Job Description
The incumbent performs the following activities in the department:
- Coordinate and manage the cleaning staff of ICRC facilities;
- Ensure that staff under responsibility are able to perform their duties in safe and proper conditions and with sufficient and adequate material;
- Organize work and utilize available resources;
- Supervise cleaning staff assigned to ICRC facilities and provide them with basic training;
- Supervise the performance of cleaning assistants (under ICRC contract, temporary and day laborers);
- Strengthen the capabilities of housekeeping staff and ensures ongoing training;
- Participates with the direct manager in the appraisal exercise ;
- Identify training needs of domestic employees;
- Identify sources of training; Communicates training plan to site manager or FAD manager
- Establish and ensure monitoring of housekeeping staff planning in the homes and offices of the delegation;
- Ensure dissemination of information within their team;
- Establish periodic inventories of equipment and materials in delegation offices and residences;
- Perform housework when required and if needed.
- Manage and monitor the stock of cleaning supplies and household items
- Organize the stock and distribution of purchased material
- Participate as needed in the selection and purchase of equipment in new residences
- Make requests as needed and/or participate in the purchase of coffee breaks and cleaning products for the delegation’s needs
- Resolve minor issues related to ICRC facilities/materials and inform supervisors of the most important ones;
- Support maintenance, logistics and other departments in a variety of useful tasks when assigned to the office.
Profile
Minimum required and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent training.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar field.
- Experience working for an NGO or international organization is an advantage
- Excellent command of Portuguese and good command of Macua and/or Mwani
- Computer literacy
