Good Neighbors Mozambique is looking for 4 Drivers based in Beira province, to have frequent trips to the districts of Dondo, Nhamatanda and Buzi.

Objective of the Project

To improve strengthened capacities of institutions, systems and communities to provide inclusive, effective, innovative, people-centred, high quality integrated sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV and gender-based-violence services to ensure universal health coverage.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Driving a GNMoz Mozambique vehicle from the office on official trips, if necessary;
  • Ensuring that the GNMoz Mozambique vehicle is well maintained and vehicle usage policies are respected;
  • Maintain vehicle mileage and other related records as required;
  • Ensure that the office vehicle has necessary vehicle accessories such as spare tires, toolbox, first aid kit, etc.;
  • The driver must check the vehicle on a daily basis, including checking the condition of the tyres, engine oil level, water level in the radiator, cooling system, windscreen wipers, brakes and clutch, correct positioning of the battery, and fleeting of Oil;
  • Ensure that the vehicle is adequately and regularly cleaned;
  • Supervise and assist in the loading and unloading of cargo;
  • Responsible for monitoring fuel consumption and other minor vehicle maintenance issues;
  • Notify the Logistics and Procurement Officer in a timely manner of any necessary repairs or overhauls;
  • Ensure that the vehicle is always properly locked and parked in a safe place when not in use, such as at night or during the weekend, and do not leave any valuables visible inside the vehicle;
  • Assume other responsibilities assigned to.

Required

  • Minimum Grade 10;
  • Professional driving license;
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a preferred driver with an NGO, including safe driving (including in rural areas), vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage control;
  • Knowledge in the mechanical area;
  • Verbal and written fluency in Portuguese and having a good level of knowledge in English will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of the current Highway Code;
  • Communication, coordination and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to work with autonomy and responsibility;
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage pressure situations;
  • Availability to travel to provinces and across districts.

Other Special Requirements:

  • Training skills, participatory skills;
  • Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible, culturally sensitive;
  • Ability to adapt to restrictive local conditions;
  • Ability to function well in a team and contribute positively to team dynamics;
  • Ability to work in isolated conditions.

Languages Required: fluency in Portuguese and having a good level of knowledge in English will be an (advantage)
