Finance Officer


 The Aga Khan Academies is hiring a Finance Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure recording of the daily fee receipts in the Financial System;
  • Generate pre-designed daily student-wise outstanding fee balances report to share with the Finance Manager for necessary actions on the recovery including notices to the parents;
  • Coordinate with the Admissions Department for creation of new student in the Financial System, deactivation on withdrawal and updating students’ personal data;
  • Maintain a separate record of approved payments plans (fee instalments) and share a separate report with Finance Manager on a weekly basis with respect to students on payment plan ensuring that the same is being followed or if any action is needed;
  • Daily follow-ups with the parents with outstanding fee balances and inform the Finance Manager if there is any challenge in reaching out parents or no response from any of the parents;
  • Prepare a statement at the time of student withdrawal showing all the outstanding dues along with security fee which is refundable;
  • Coordinate and track all the additional invoices such as examination fee, break fee for the residential students, transport fee, meal fee, extra-curricular fee etc. with the relevant departments and follow-up on the recovery as well;
  • Coordinate with the Finance Manager in designing of the invoice formats and necessary translations from English to Portuguese;
  • Administer, disburse, record and reconcile the stipend money to residential students. Share a report with Head of Residence on a weekly basis with copy to Finance Manager;
  • To undertake appropriate personal development to maintain and improve skills and awareness in consultation with the Finance Manager;
  • Any additional task that the Line Manager may assign time to time.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Commerce;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance related field;
  • Excellent written/oral communication in English and Portuguese;
  • Computer skills (mainly Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel);
  • Ability to work independently with discretion and within tight deadlines.
