Puma Energy is hiring a 2 Operators, based in Beira.
Main Purpose
The Storage & Handling Operator role exists to comply fully with Puma‘s HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) policies, standards, procedures and practices, more specifically to the relevant Storage & Handling Task Procedures, as required during the course of receipt, storage & dispatch of bulk fuel product & bulk fuel additives. In addition to personal safety, it is imperative that the incumbent consistently adheres to process safety guidelines as it applies to each task in the depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining HSE in and around the terminal;
- Ensure pre and post tank-ship and cross-pump dips are accurately performed;
- Ensure samples are taken when required after each receipt before tank is open for sales;
- Complete the following documentation: dip sheet, quality control register & Tankship communication register;
- Ensure all road tankers intending to load/offload at a terminal / depot have a valid Safe Loading Passes (SLP);
- Load and offload Road tankers as per task procedure as & when required;
- Conduct Bunkering operation as and when directed
- Take dips and temperature from bulk tanks daily, weekly, monthly or as directed;
- Test Diesel received from tank ship for flashpoint & density using appropriate instrumentation;
- Ensure water is drained from tanks when required;
- Inspect valves, couplings & related equipment as per schedule of routine so that the relevant facility can be maintained in a timely & efficient manner;
- Ensure all valves and drain points are locked as required;
- Ensure housekeeping around the depot, especially the Lorry bay and tank farm is maintained at all times;
- Attend HSSE meetings and training as required to remain vigilant and competent;
- Have an awareness level of SAPS elements that affect their role;
- Inspect trucks intending to load/offload at the depot; and
- Various other activities.
Requirements
Education
- Minimum Grade 12.
Experience
- Possess a sound knowledge and on the job experience in Logistics operation. Previous experience in Fuel Depot operation will be preferred;
- Ability to work with diverse teams with the direct guidelines and direction from the depot manager.
Language
- English (written and spoken).

- Basic Communication Skills;
- Teamwork oriented;
- Driving skills is an advantage.
