Business Analyst/Master Trainer

The Akros is hiring a Business Analyst/Master Trainer.

What’s so great about Akros?

At Akros, we bring innovative ideas for gathering and using data to development challenges through a “boots on the ground” approach. We’ve built our organizational culture and nuanced approach to implementation by being where our work is. Akros has been supporting government and partner counterparts from our home base in Lusaka, Zambia for over 10 years. This close, on the ground, partnership has helped to contextualize our work to ensure that we are only scaling the ideas and approaches which will work and will be sustained in under-resourced settings over time.

What impactful projects are we supporting in Mozambique?

Akros is designing, building and implementing systems that make a significant health impact in cost-effective ways. Akros, in collaboration with eGov, is supporting a project that will support digital data collection and service delivery inline with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Health (MISAU) Mozambique. Akros will support the testing and pilot of the DIGIT system in Mozambique in a staged manner, exploring feasibility and scale in an iterative fashion.

Position overview

  • We are looking for a skilled, business analyst who has significant experience handling end to end program implementations, particularly implementations of digital data systems. This individual will support the testing and piloting of DIGIT (Digital Infrastructure for Governance, Impact and Transformation), which is a digital public good. DIGIT is an open, interoperable free-to-use platform that offers solutions for citizens, first mile employees, administrators, commercial players and policy makers.
  • The business analyst will support Akros’ in-country presence and close working relationships with the Ministry of Health (MISAU) Mozambique to spearhead coordination with stakeholders and will maintain a strong understanding of all moving pieces within the project. Best candidates will be ready to jump in and work with highly technical teams to ensure DIGIT is implemented inline with MISAU requirements. The individual will coordinate with other project stakeholders to ensure that the project is adequately monitored and evaluated, and that all perspectives and experiences are captured and incorporated into learnings for future improvement and iteration. The business analyst will also work with implementation teams to understand existing country and use case context, and to configure and deploy the existing open-source platform to swiftly meet field needs. The business analyst will coordinate and lead training of trainer events and capacity building exercises prior and during implementation of DIGIT.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Represent Akros to the government and implementing partners. Liaise with Health Programs and in-country implementing partners to build capacity for planning, facilitate integrations with existing datasets, and guide end user training and operational management for health workers who are administering interventions.
  • Support the implementation and use of data and tools during data collection activities for all targeted districts;
    Collaborate with Akros teams and partner software development team(s) through participation on quality assurance and live-fire field tests of the mobile application, forms and web interface, and program manager dashboards.
  • Support the documentation and adaptation of standard operating procedures and protocols for implementation in Mozambique.
  • Conduct in-country data collector training, including training and support for decision-making protocols in the targeted districts/provinces.
  • Work alongside provincial ministries of health and in-country staff and partners to provide in-field support for the duration of the campaign in the targeted areas, according to program protocols.
  • Work with the Ministry of Health (MISAU) Mozambique and stakeholders to identify key champions at national, province, and district level and train and transfer capacity to these local personnel to support the planning, data collector training and in-field support activities during subsequent campaigns and data collection.
  • Engage national and local stakeholders in Mozambique to solicit feedback and identify areas for improvement, including the identification of additional tools and processes that could increase efficiency, as well as overall program performance.
  • Document best practices for system configuration, protocol design, and end user training.
  • Actively participate in design team discussions of new product features.
