The Role: Finance Manager

Summary
MRM seeks a highly competent Finance Manager to organise, manage and oversee all finance operations at MRM, in compliance with corporate policies & procedures and local rules & regulations.
This person will also act as Finance Controller to other Gemfields Projects in the same concession. The primary purpose is to provide for each respective Business Unit key financial, accounting, and commercial expertise to support operations through effective and efficient establishment and management of financial systems and procedures, tax and treasury, compliance with reporting, accounting, and relevant legal requirements in Mozambique.
Responsibilities
Financial performance, policies, and procedures
1. Produce Management Accounts as per established timetable Participate in the production of Statutory financial statements.
2. Ensure all financial transactions are appropriately recorded in alignment with approved budget and supported with fiscally valid documentation.
3. Establish financial discipline and control by monthly reviewing all GL reconciliations on currently reviews the sub-ledgers performs adhoc reconciliations as deemed necessary.
4. Track accounting staff deliverables to ensure established timetable is complied with.
5. Responsible for gemstone inventory tracking and valuation
6. Administration of Company asset information
7. Invoicing to third parties and subsequent timely follow up with clients and other auction participants concurrently follows up with Banks, Customs Broker & Others for compliance and timely receipt of funds.
8. Point person on external & internal audits.
9. Prepare all supporting information and or analysis for monthly/annual reviews & adhoc queries.
10. Others as deemed necessary by line manager.

Qualifications
- Commercially focused qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc.) with at least 07 years’ relevant experience of which at least 5 years’ experience gained in a similar or senior position in a multinational company.
- Significant experience in the resources sector is desirable.
- Strong commitment, leadership, management, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Excellent English and Portuguese written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player capable of working effectively and productively with other managers across a diverse cultural environment.
- Experience of understanding and managing of financial and commercial issues in an operational and challenging environment of rapid growth.
- An autonomous, self-disciplined, empowering leader guided by corporate strategy and directives.
- Strongly results orientated with a clear determination to succeed.
- English Written and Spoken fluently.
