IT Data Analyst

 


Coca – Cola Beverages Africa has an exciting vacancy of IT Data Analyst at one of our Mozambique Bottlers – Matola-Gare Plant, leading producer of various flavors in Mozambique for the last 29 years. This position reports directly to the IT Service Delivery Manager.

 

Key Purpose Statement

The IT Data Analyst will be responsible for the following:

  • Identify, match, quantify and validate potential business improvement opportunities; as well as identifying potential internal conflicts in relation to product / market.
  • Design, build, and deploy reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Plan, implement and manage the migration of data between IT systems, software, or applications.

This role will leverage data and high-quality insights, anchored in data and facts, to chase value and ultimately impact successful business results and growth.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Management Team with a thought leadership mindset on “problems to be solved” that leverages analytics across functions and country;
  • Connect insights to support the Management Team in framing and aligning on prioritisation of key issues and opportunities;
  • Empower Management Team with data to strengthen their collaboration with group leadership to facilitate and drive an on-going dialogue on improving processes from an end-to-end point of view;
  • Develop the analytical framework and blueprint to unpack business questions identified and ensures this discipline in practise and methodology is adhered to throughout CCBA;
  • Support with design and development of tools to improve economic / business objectives in consideration of the various levers / decision making points from top line to bottom line;
  • Focus on continuous improvement by driving the use of analytics and collaborate with Management Team to identify and propose key business assumptions and improvement opportunities across the Country which will make CCBA better, faster, more valuable with less costly outputs;
  • Collaborate with Management Team to support local functional business on continuous improvement of process and its system support, focusing on operational efficiency;
  • Identify errors, inconsistencies and gaps in processes KPIs (cross function) and provide solutions to Management Team and other subject matter experts (e.g. Finance) with refining hypotheses and through analytics guide the right business questions to test viability of optimisation proposals;
  • Focus on leveraging internal best practise by using sophisticated data-driven problem-solving techniques to excavate data and interpret business results and current practises which works well in one country;
  • Analyse, benchmark and rationalise proposed adoption of these opportunities / best practise based on local considerations through modelling of business scenarios using known data sets and business needs/requirements;
  • Translate these findings into insights for application into the country and /or function which leverages lessons learnt and enhance in-country performance across CCBA;
  • Focus on identifying new opportunities the enterprise needs to consider or address by proactively looking at the trends and patterns in business information;
  • Collaborates with Third Parties, Management Team and cross-functional business stakeholders to evaluate these new insights and identify business processes which could be proposed as new projects;
  • Use synthesis and storytelling to translate data and insights into powerful business stories which will translate into robust commercial business cases to support the Management Team;
  • Prepares materials that help communicate the significance of the insights to senior leaders and other critical team members. May participate in key team member meetings;
  • Analyse performance of various pilot initiatives while following a set framework / pre-and post-analysis with an emphasis on continuous improvement which directly contributes to the bottom line;
  • Participate as team member in major business projects when needed;
  • Maintain and update required tools based on business requirements;
  • Responsible for the development and administration of BI tools;
  • Develop operational reports;
  • Build automated reports and dashboards with the help of Power BI and other reporting tools;
  • Understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications;
  • Create functional reporting;
  • Meet with clients or users to find out their data migration needs;
  • Create a project plan for the migration process, including mapping risks and potential impact;
  • Cleanse data as necessary to remove the potential for issues with data migration;
  • Find and fix any outstanding faults or issues with migrated data;
  • Develop best practice standards and protocols for data migration;

 

Skills, Experience & Education

  • A degree in engineering, computer science, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field and a Professional Level Technology certification;
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Business Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance or Operations experience with an emphasis on analysis, modelling, or forecasting (preferably FMCG environment;
  • Proven delivery of significant value on high impact/strategic projects in operations;
  • Management Consulting or Engineering experience advantageous;
  • Strong Excel skills – Pivots, VLOOKUPs with modelling capabilities;
  • Data visualization via Microsoft Power BI;
  • Data modelling;
  • Statistical analysis leveraging – Python R (predictive models) advantageous;
  •  Experience as Business Intelligence Specialist – for at least 3 to 5 years;
  • Extensive experience working within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI;
  • Technical qualifications (Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure, BSc);
  • Proficiency on English and Portuguese language.
