Planning Manager (m/f)

 


We are looking for a results-oriented planning manager to evaluate our company’s short- and long-term objectives and suggest ways of achieving them. The strategic planner is also responsible for carrying out market studies, availability of parts, tools, equipment, conditions and weather, durability, analyzing trends in the sector.
To be successful as a strategic planner, you must have excellent analytical skills. A good strategic planner is able to use sound logic to make observations about the company’s current methods and where improvements are needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, direct and execute optimized daily operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, capacity and flexibility of assets while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Responsibility for production, product quality and timely shipment plan, organize, direct and execute optimal daily operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, capacity and flexibility of assets, minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production, product quality and on-time delivery
  • Allocate resources effectively and make full use of assets to produce the best results
  • Implement strategies in line with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Controlling operations and triggering corrective actions
  • Sharing a relationship of trust with the work group and recruiting, managing and developing plant staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit to the plant’s safety procedures
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and performance standards, metrics and objectives to ensure an effective return on assets
  • Resolve workers’ problems or complaints and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Influencing and learning from subordinates
  • Keeping up to date with best practices and concepts in production management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven professional experience as a planning manager.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
  • Familiarity with standardized equipment in the sector and technical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and management processes.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to create responsibility and lead by example.
  • Strong team-building, decision-making and people management skills.
  • Degree in Business Management or related field.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and plan work.
  • Must be able to handle a variety of project tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to coordinate work from different perspectives.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Project planning, risk management, time management and other project management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools and SAP.
MINIMUM PERIOD OF EXPERIENCE / TRAINING (DESCRIPTION OF TYPICAL BASIC
EXPERIENCE)
  • 10 years’ experience and proven technical skills;
  • Experience in the field of logistics, transportation, industrial storage of minerals, oil and gas, large equipment, can be an asset;

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / TRAINING

  • Fluent in English (a very strong advantage) and knowledge of computers and SAP are mandatory;
