Job Posting: Deck Foreman
Role:
- Responsible for performing all marine routine work on the hull deck and FWT and AFT mooring bays FWD and Aft Machinery spaces that required applied good seamanship practice.
- Responsible for using emergency, lifesaving, damage control, and safety equipment, performing general ship’s maintenance, repair, cranes/lifting gears operations.
- Direct, and supervise personnel in ship’s maintenance duties in all activities relating deck, boat seamanship, painting, upkeep of ship’s external structure, rigging and deck equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with the contents of the FLNG operations HSE procedures, ensuring that all marine crew are also aware of the procedures.
- Planning the daily work schedule under the purview of the Marine Super intendent and assigning the required work to the appropriate member of the marine crew.
- Report to the Marine Superintendent the progress of daily work of the marine crew.
- Ensure that the side by side and tandem mooring operations are carried out efficiently.
- Responsible of management and maintaining the tools used for marine works.
- Perform general preparation for marine maintenance, repair, and upkeep of material, equipment, and areas in the marine department with the available safe manning for achieving safe working conditions.
- Support and supervise the maintenance of the FLNG structures by chipping, scraping, cleaning, priming, and painting.
- Clean, first line maintenance, and repair the hull, decks and superstructure.
- Perform inspection and routine maintenance on lifeboats, rescue boats and life rafts, and emergency and damage control gear.
- Following the instructions and responsibilities within the Emergency Response Plan and assure that crew are aware of their responsibilities.
- Ensure proper management of marine mooring messenger ropes& heave lines and mooring handling equipment.
- Ensure implementation of the procedures and work instructions for bunkering/debunking operations.
- Maintenance running of the marine equipment under preservation.
- Use emergency, lifesaving, damage control, and safety equipment.
- Perform all operations connected with the launching of lifesaving equipment.
- Supervise the operation of deck machinery, such as mooring capstans while mooring or unmooring, and to support the operation of lifting gear and cranes.
- Lowers or retrieve lifeboats with winch or falls.
- Support the operation of the Fast Rescue boat during drills and in real situation.
- To ensure that the lowermost marine crew member are effective in their duties. Support the maintenance of the LNG and Condensate offloading packages by applying good seamanship practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 years technical marine/offshore studies school or equivalent.
- 15 years’ experience on LNG & Oil Carriers, offshore constructions vessels or Marine terminals.
- 2 years of LNG experience.
Trainings/Certifications:
- Marine Certificate of Competency.
- Basic Safety Course with Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.
- Proficiency Survival Craft & Rescue Boat.
- General Tanker Familiarization.
- Advance Training in Fire Fighting.
- Ship Security Awareness.
- HSE.
- LNG unit operations.
- Communications.
Competencies:
- Basic Knowledge of Oil & Gas plants operation.
- Understanding of Off-loading and ESD system operation.
- Must be computer literate with an understanding of basic office applications.
- Lifting Operations
- Fluency in English.
