Coca – Cola Beverages Africa has an exciting vacancy of EOSH Business System Coordinator at one of our Mozambique Bottlers – Chimoio Plant, leading producer of various flavors in Mozambique. The incumbent candidate will be responsible to EOSH Coordinator is to coordinate and manage the EOSH system inclusive of all internal as well as external audits and corrective action across all functions, capabilities, and sites within the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Guide and Influence Understanding of EOSH Systems: Where unsafe work practices and unsafe conditions have been identified, is responsible to work with Process Owners to correct this; Work with Senior management to ensure building of Safety Culture in the organization with active participation and management of safety campaigns, including tracking of implementation data.
Manage People and Processes to ensure compliance with EOSH Systems: Ensures that everyone in the organization apply TCCC and legal EOSH requirements as well as internal plant and company procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks; Ensures that EOSH and housekeeping receive appropriate focus through regular checks /walkabouts and EOSH audits; Ensure effective EOSH communication in the plant, to external warehouses, and distribution centers; Ensure EOSH training is conducted for all levels in all functions; EOSH induction of new employees, visitors and contractors conducted.
Ensure effective execution of SC ways: Perform relevant SCMAT assessments and provide evidence of implementation.
Maintain and ensure compliance with EOSH requirements, regulations and policies and effective management of EOSH systems: Ensures implementation of the appropriate CCBA and legislative policies on EOSH and housekeeping; Coordinate and administer the EOSH committee meeting; Liaise with Clinic regarding H&S statistics; Updated EOSH statistics / incident; Updated EPM statistics to Group office and BU; Schedule & organize legal surveys and audits and implementation of action plans; Assist all functions with writing of procedures and updating of EOSH documents.
Proactively entrench EOSH systems: Construct a EOSH system implementation and maintenance plan in liaison with SHEQ Manager, Business Systems Coordinator and Engineering Department; Enforce compliance to local legal, KORE, ISO 14001 and NOSA requirements; Coordinate and ensure review of plant risk assessment with Process Owners; Ensure the logging and closing of corrective actions applicable to the EOSH system; Ensure incident investigations are done for all incidents.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Honours degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification in occupational safety and health (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technician) preferred.
- Proven experience in occupational safety, health, and environmental management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to workplace safety, health, and environmental protection (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO, SAMTRAC NOSA).
- Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001/45001 and/or NOSA System;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities such as integrity, accountability, and a commitment to fostering a safety-conscious culture.
