Job Description

Coca – Cola Beverages Africa has an exciting vacancy of Unit Processing Team Leader at one of our Mozambique Bottlers – Chimoio Plant, leading producer of various flavors in Mozambique. The incumbent candidate will be responsible to lead Processing function in the Chimoio plant to ensure the safeguarding of company assets & inventory whilst minimizing risk, fraud & losses by ensuring compliance to stock management and control processes & procedures.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Deliveries: Ensure GRV done for all raw material received within 24h; Ensure all raw material are counted at minimum 4 times a month (once per week); Ensure all Inventory in processing are counted physical and compared with system; Ensure no Mixed raw material in processing; All inventory with differences must have a clear explanation to be posted/no post without explanation if inventory have a differences; Make sure that production plan is not compromised because lack of stock/schedule or stock raw material according to previously production plan agreed; Ensure reconciliations of production and raw material are completed before 8h to next shift; Ensure that all processing stores are organized 100% according to material characterization to allow any person easy access of materials and counting

Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the unit processing team, including assigning tasks, setting goals, and monitoring performance.

Workflow Management: Manage the workflow within the unit to ensure timely processing of tasks and adherence to quality standards.

Training and Development: Train new team members on processing procedures, systems, and tools. Provide ongoing coaching and development to enhance team skills and performance.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy and completeness of processed data/documents. Conduct regular audits to identify and address any discrepancies or errors.

Problem Resolution: Address any issues or concerns raised by team members and escalate complex problems to higher management as needed. Proactively identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks or operational challenges.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and productivity targets. Take corrective actions as necessary to improve performance and meet objectives.

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication channels within the team and with other departments. Provide regular updates on team performance, project status, and any relevant changes in procedures or policies.

Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of processing procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Keep records of team activities, including processing volumes, error rates, and productivity metrics.

Collaboration: Collaborate with other team leaders and departments to streamline processes, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Adherence to Policies and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and standards governing processing activities. Stay informed about any changes or updates to regulatory requirements and ensure timely implementation within the unit.

 

Skills, Experience & Education

  • Honors degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a processing or operational environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency in using processing software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., data protection, privacy laws) is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Leadership qualities such as integrity, resilience, and empathy.
  • Proficiency on English and Portuguese language.
