Minas Moatize Limitada is currently seeking a skilled Mining Superintendent to join their mining company based in Moatize, Tete. As a Mining Superintendent, you will oversee the mining operations, ensuring efficient production while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Safety and Risk Management:
- Prioritize safety above all else.
- Implement safety programs, conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety rules.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks related to equipment, personnel and processes.
- Investigate incidents and accidents implementing corrective actions as needed.
2. Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day mine activities, including monitoring, excavation and hauling.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments (geology, engineering, maintenance) to achieve production targets.
3. Production Optimization:
- Monitor production metrics (tonnage, quality, machine availability / utilization) and adjust operations as necessary.
- Coordinate with shift supervisors and operators to maintain efficient production schedules.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and address equipment downtime promptly.
4. Personnel Management:
- Lead and motivate a diverse workforce, including miners, equipment operators and maintenance staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback and support professional development.
- Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes teamwork and accountability.
5. Budget and Cost Control:
- Manage the mine’s budget, tracking expenses related to mining contractors, labor, equipment usage, fuel usage and supplies.
- Optimize resource allocation while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to ensure timely procurement of necessary materials.
6. Environmental Stewardship:
- Implement environmental management practices, including waste disposal and reclamation.
- Minimize the mine’s impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
- Comply with environmental permits and regulations.

Education or Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).

Years of Experience:
- Proven experience (10+ years) in mining operations, with at least some time spent in supervisory roles.
Languages:
- Portuguese and English written and spoken fluently
